Custom 3D Printing Artist, Jamie Gillies
Jamie Gillies is an artist, creator, innovator, and founder of Cre8ing One. As someone who lives with the challenges of dyslexia, Jamie chose to include a number in his company name because letters are hard and the struggle is real. The number eight, when turned sideways, is also the infinity symbol, which to him represents unlimited possibilities. Following his passion, he attended art college after graduating high school. However, with a love of cars, and an innate ability for problem-solving, he found his way to the automotive industry. Jamie has been an automotive technician for 25 years, which has afforded him the opportunity to create out-of-the-box solutions to difficult problems.
This eventually led to a unique blend of his artistic nature and creative problem-solving within the 3D printing industry. His most favorite creations are finding inventive solutions to put “a square peg in a round hole”. He takes pride in creating beautiful home decor pieces, devising innovative ideas for vintage car accessories, and designing almost any idea you have across that spectrum.
He is a natural teacher, developing and offering free 3D printing workshops to community members. Being environmentally conscious, Jamie is using filament waste to build new works of art, and will be partnering with a recycling facility to produce a reusable filament.
Jamie has created pieces for local businesses, high schools, body shops, automotive technicians and vintage car owners. Jamie also provides one-on-one tutoring/private lessons on how to use your specific 3D printer, so you can use it to its fullest potential.
